Hello! My name is Gary Mast

and I am excited to be assisting you at
Equine Affaire this year with Wood-Tex Products. I have just joined
the Wood-Tex team this fall from the sunny south and am excited to be
representing such an extensive product line in regards to horse barns
and run-in sheds. This will be my first experience with a show like
the Equine Affaire and I am sure that it will be a learning experience
for me.

I grew up as a young boy about sixty minutes from Church Hill Downs
and know that equestrian folks are very passionate about their animal
friends and how they care for them. That is where Wood-Tex can help
out, with all of our options when it comes to configurations and stall
sizes,we have the capability to fit almost any size animal as well as
budget needs.

We use only the finest materials in constructing our horse barns and
run-in sheds,like 2x4 and 4x4 white oak framing, #1 white pine board
and batten siding with 6x6 treated for ground contact base framing. I
am looking forward to seeing some of the many fine equestrian events
and show animals that will be at this one of a kind show. To view some
of our horse barns please visit us on the web at www.woodtex.com and
browse our horse barn pages.
We will be located in the Better Living Center Building at Booths 320/321

The Wood-Tex Modular Advantage

If you are in the market for a new horse barn, storage shed, or garage, you are probably wondering what solution is the most cost effective. You probably have an idea or “dream building” that you are patterning after, but you are still looking for something affordable that fits within your budget. You may be considering the cost savings of doing some of the legwork and construction yourself, or the advantages of hiring a general contractor to do all the work for you. Quality building materials, and a warranty or guarantee are also major factors to consider. What if you discovered a building that had all of the above? I would like this opportunity to introduce you to the advantages of a modular building, specifically a modular horse barn from Wood-Tex Products.

Since money is the key factor for most major decisions like this, we will touch on that subject first. About 75% of the building process of a modular horse barn is done at our shop. This will save in labor costs and manufacturing time. Most of our modular barns are completed within 1-3 days after delivery, compared to several weeks for a traditional “built onsite” barn. The efficiency of the building process of a modular horse barn is something that just can’t be matched by a traditional stick-frame or pole barn.

Generally, a modular barn has to be built sturdier to withstand stresses during delivery and unloading. A Wood-Tex modular horse barn is framed with 4x4 white oak posts and 2x4 white oak girts and braces. White oak is considered to be one of the strongest, most durable wood products available. 30 Yr architectural shingles are a standard feature, and a 40 yr metal roof is also available. Because of the sturdiness of the constructed barns and the durability of the materials, Wood-Tex can offer a 7 year top to bottom guarantee on its modular horse barns. This “peace of mind” factor is worth mentioning, as most contractors hesitate to guarantee their work beyond 1 or 2 years.

There are several reasons why we use high quality wood products for our horse barns instead of steel framing and metal siding. Experts suggest that the natural insulating properties of wood make it the obvious choice as a shelter for animals. Metal, on the other hand, will get hotter in the summer and colder in the winter. Wood also has the ability to absorb moisture, so it will not condensate like metal. Outside noises are muted with a wood barn due to its sound absorption properties. Last of all, wooden barns are more atheistically pleasing. A wooden barn will blend into any type of setting, while a metal building has an industrial look that doesn’t fit with a country setting.

These are only a few of the many reasons why your next horse barn should be a modular horse barn from Wood-Tex Products. Check out our website at www.woodtex.com for more information on our modular horse barns, prefab cabins, garages, and storage sheds!
